Brent Cross South Community Fund Grants Funding For 11 Local Projects

Launched in May 2020 for its second year, the £30,000 Brent Cross South Community Fund focused on supporting local initiatives which are working to respond directly to the impact of COVID-19 in the communities in and around the regeneration area. In total, the panel received 55 applications for funding. The panel were extremely impressed by the level of dedication and creativity the applicants demonstrated to support some of the most vulnerable groups in their communities and improve their environment in the wake of COVID-19. 11 projects located in, and just outside, the wards of Golders Green, Childs Hill and West Hendon, neighbouring the Brent Cross South development have now been offered grants of up to £3,000. The 11 projects selected incorporate a wide range of activities and initiatives, ranging from a scheme set up to provide socially distanced physical activities for children on the West Hendon Estate over the summer holidays, an outdoor nature engagement and wellbeing programme at Clitterhouse Farm, as well as a project set up by the Barnet African Caribbean Association to improve digital inclusion for older people in its community.
