Temporary Visitor Centre – Planning Approval
Brent Cross South has been approved.
This Visitor Centre and associated landscaping was consulted on during events held in June and July 2019. The designs incorporate an exhibition space and flexible ground floor commercial space. Many thanks to those that came along to share their thoughts on the designs for this last year.

Brent Cross South’s Visitor Pavilion Gets Green Light
The first building to be constructed in Argent Related’s 180-acre Brent Cross South development received planning approval on Friday from Barnet Council. Designed by Moxon Architects, the 8,000 square foot temporary Visitor Pavilion will bring to life, through its design and exhibitions, Argent Related and Barnet Council’s vision for the new town centre development – its homes, workspaces, leisure and community spaces.

Argent Related and Barnet Council, working in partnership to deliver Brent Cross South, the 180-acre new town centre development north of Cricklewood, has announced eleven local community projects to be funded as part of 2020’s £30,000 Brent Cross South Community Fund.

Online Exhibition – Plot 15 and Interim Transport Interchange – available until 6 September
This exhibition will present further elements of the Brent Cross South development covering detailed design proposals for:
(i) Plot 15, a residential plot located in the row of residential plots facing Claremont Park; and
(ii) the Interim Transport Interchange, a transport hub to be located adjacent to the eastern entrance of the new Brent Cross West Thameslink station.

The New Exploratory Park is now open in Brent Cross South
Argent Related and Barnet Council, working in partnership to deliver the 180-acre new town centre development north of Cricklewood, have opened a new public park. Designed by East Architects, Exploratory Park replaces the Rosa Freedman Centre and Clarefield Park with a welcoming new landscaped space. It will be open from 12 of August for several years for local people to enjoy until the permanent Claremont Park is completed.

Vattenfall to bring low carbon heating to London homes and businesses
Vattenfall Heat UK has signed an agreement with Brent Cross South developer Argent Related to provide low carbon heating to homes, shops, and other businesses in the redevelopment scheme in Barnet, north London. At 8MW, the network will be the largest installation of heat pumps in the UK.

BXS Community Fund returns
Brent Cross South (BXS), the 180-acre new town centre development north of Cricklewood, is back with its Community Fund for a second year after a successful pilot in 2019. The BXS Community Fund has increased its pot to £30,000 to support local initiatives which aim to respond directly to the impact of COVID-19 in the community.

Planning permission to deliver a new neighbourhood park has been approved for Brent Cross South. Plans for Claremont Park - designed by Townshend Landscape Architects - include a range of features such as new play areas, park furniture, a pond, fencing and shared pedestrian and cycling routes.

First 10 community projects receive funding from Brent Cross South
In June the team behind Brent Cross South, the 180-acre new town centre development north of Cricklewood, launched a £25,000 community fund to support local initiatives celebrating or improving the local area. It can now announce the first 10 projects to be funded via the pilot; they range from a scheme to build an exciting outdoor activity area for local children’s groups to the creation of a new ‘village green’ for a residential street, and a local history ‘memories’ project.

Plans for joint venture’s development at Brent Cross South approved by Barnet Council
Barnet Council last night [17 March] approved a Joint Venture to take forward the future development of Brent Cross South, the 180-acre area south of the Brent Cross shopping centre. The new development will sit alongside Hammerson and Standard Life Investments’ redevelopment of Brent Cross shopping centre, connected via a new pedestrian bridge across the North Circular.
