Nine-storey building with public square in front of it

Plans for 600 homes for students at Brent Cross Town have been published today. Our online exhibition for Plot 25 is open now, and you can see the designs, read the context and tell us your thoughts until Sunday 20 December.

Due to be finished in 2024, this building will be one of the town’s first. It will border Neighbourhood Square, a green and active meeting place at the centre of Brent Cross Town’s new high street. Comprising three blocks from nine to 23 storeys high, the design by Glenn Howells Architects responds to the site with a varied palette of materials. Facade textures ranging from brown brick to reconstituted stone will lend each block a strong architectural identity while complementing surrounding buildings that are still to come.

We’re keen to hear views from the local community.

We’re proposing a pedestrian walkway leading north to connect the building to Brent South Shopping Park, with a lift to ensure accessibility over a change in level. As well as its 600 studio rooms, communal spaces on the ground floor such as a gym, study area and games room will make a lively addition to streetlife. We’re particularly keen to hear views from the local community about what the commercial unit on the ground floor should be used for: whether that’s a coworking space, microbrewery or corner shop, please use the “any other comments” box for your ideas.

Visit the exhibition here and complete the form by Sunday 20 December to submit your thoughts. You can also drop a line to the project team with any questions on [email protected]
